2. End User License Agreement (EULA)
Article 1 (General & Grant of License)
This Agreement governs the use of RoamSwitch provided by Lafine Systems Design. By installing or using the software, you agree to these terms.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the software on Mac devices you legally manage.
Article 2 (Restrictions)
You shall not engage in any of the following activities:
- Decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or attempting to extract source code.
- Modifying, redistributing, reselling, or renting the software to third parties.
- Using audit or security features to launch unauthorized attacks on third-party networks.
- Infringing upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of any party.
- Using the software for illegal or unlawful purposes.
Article 3 (Intellectual Property)
All intellectual property rights in and to the software remain the exclusive property of Lafine Systems Design.
Article 4 (Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability)
- The software is provided 'AS IS' without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- Lafine Systems Design shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use.
Article 5 (Third-Party Licenses)
Portions of this software integrate open-source components (e.g. ClamAV under GPLv2). Apple, macOS, and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc.
Article 6 (Governing Law & Jurisdiction)
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of Japan, with exclusive jurisdiction in the Tokyo District Court.
3. Business Continuity & End-of-Life Policy
RoamSwitch is developed and provided by one person (Lafine Systems Design). So that a purchased license never simply stops working — whether something happens to the developer or the product must be discontinued — the following applies:
- Offline license validation. Pro licenses are verified with an Ed25519 signature and a device hash — no internet connection or server of ours is required. If the activation server goes away, already-activated Macs and Linux machines keep working.
- Final build kept available. If the product is discontinued, the last released version stays downloadable for as long as reasonably possible, signed with our Developer ID (Mac) / GPG key (Linux).
- Key components are public. The bundled MCP server and detection logic, and the RoamSwitchKit SDK, are already published on GitHub under the MIT license. A third party can fork them and continue maintenance.
- Linux edition keeps shipping. RoamSwitch for Linux (Community Edition) is free and remains available from the apt / dnf / zypper repositories and GitHub Releases.
- Notice. If we decide to discontinue the product, we will announce it on lafine.net and GitHub as far in advance as we can (no specific notice period is guaranteed).
- Refunds. Because licenses keep working after discontinuation as described above, discontinuation is not grounds for a refund.
